A Blur...............

Well, life is still busy and there's always something going on for us!

Last weekend, we went camping with some friends from Grace Pres at Town Lake and we had a blast! It was right on the Tombigbee River and our spot was beautiful. Saturday was Jane Kimmel's birthday party! Yay!! She looked precious decked out in her princess gear. Then, Dane's parents came that afternoon and spend the night with us. First overnight visitors in the trailer! Haha! We cooked steaks and stayed up late playing spades. We had so much fun! But, Dane got sick Sunday and ended up having an upper respiratory infection. He's better now!

This week we've been busy, too. School and work and job searching, random trips to Philadelphia, playing phase 10, babysitting, painting, and just hanging out. I'm done with one of my classes, so that's awesome! My other class ends next tuesday. I feel like it's all been a blur.

Next Thursday, we're headed to the beach with the Lesley family for a few days! Needless to say, I'm beyond pumped! It took Cameron and I a couple of days to convince Dane, but nonetheless, he finally gave in! The Lesley family is incredibly giving to Dane and I and have really taken us in and loved on us. We love them and they're always so much fun! We're so excited about their generous invite to let us vacation with them for the 4th! :)

As some of you know, Dane and I's next step is very "up in the air" and not much is clear right now as to what we're doing next. Please continue to pray for us and for Dane's job opportunities. There have been a couple of bites here and there, but no fish. I have faith that God's path is going to clear for us, and I'm excited about what His plan is! Thanks, we love you all!

Home Sweet Home

Hello! Well, we've been busy making our new place a home. I'm posting some pictures of my favorite part, the kitchen! We are fully stocked and I must say that I love being in the kitchen or walking through it or just looking at it. Ha! If it wasn't for Meredith, Laura, Kitty, and Jessica, our place would not have come together as fast as it did. They were huge blessings, and I'm so thankful for y'all.

Ok, now for the pictures! At first, our kitchen cabinets had this very interesting black glass/gold design thing on them... they were not pretty:

BUT, with an extremely crafty group of friends, we made them turn out like this!

I just love them so much! Our kitchen really does look awesome. The only downside is no dishwasher. But that's okay.... we'll manage! Now, for pictures of my equally favorite part of this place, the view of our backyard!

Yes, our backyard is a lake with our own deck. It's so beautiful! We definitely love it.

Anyways, we're still working hard on the rest of the place. We just rearranged our bedroom this morning. Hope everyone can come visit us soon!

1 month!

Today is our one month anniversary. That's kinda crazy! It's definitely flown by and I can't believe we're 1/12 of the way through our first year of marriage. Haha!

We've been pretty busy this week. School has been keeping me busy and there's always homework to catch up on. I've been drinking lots of coffee and trying to get in the groove of school again. Even though we aren't sure of what's next for us, I have decided to apply to grad school here at MSU for the Rehabilitation Counseling Master's program. Not sure how this is going to pan out or if it's even in the His plan for us, but it's something that I'd love to do. If it works out, then it works out and we'll be in Starkville for the next 2 years! If it doesn't, there are about 50 other things we could be doing. Hopefully God will show us that path clearly. Dane has been working at home and today he is out in Aberdeen working. Please keep praying on job opportunities for him. God's timing can be frustrating, especially when He's not working with our schedule. But, isn't it awesome when His timing comes in to play? Not only is it a reality check, but it's just plain satisfying!

Also, we're excited because we're getting to move into our new home this week/weekend! I'm so so ready to be out of the place we're in now, and I'm looking forward to actually feeling at home somewhere. Can't wait for everyone to come and visit! We went to Jackson and Philadelphia this week to round up some family furniture. It's gonna be great! And, my personal decorator/painter/best friend/creative genius Laura Speed is coming to help me decorate and place things, so I'm super excited about that! Laura is such a giving and gentle spirit, and being around her is so easy and comfortable. These are two awesome traits to have in a best friend!

Well, our anniversary dinner was great, and I gave Dane a spatula as a little gift. Haha! I feel so grown up when I desire things like spatulas, a garlic press, and good knives and when we spend our Sam's gift card on cleaning supplies. It's fun though, and I'm grateful for getting to be a 'grown up' with Dane. He's a child and an old man all wrapped into one, so I'm constantly being entertained and it makes life fun. :)

Okay, getting back to homework now! If you're the type, please be thinking/praying for Dane's job hunt and for my next step. We love you all!

Here We Are!

Well, this is our newlywed's blog! It's mainly to share pictures and stories with our families and friends, but hopefully we can share little bits of wisdom from time to time!

SO, here we are! Right now, we're living in Starkville and we're about to move into our mobile mansion (a.k.a. trailer) in the next 2 weeks. We're excited about finally establishing a home somewhere. Currently, I'm in school (2 classes in June and 2 classes in July... ugh) and working. I finish my undergrad in Psychology at the end of the summer. Dane is working hard to find work around here in Starkville. It's tough! BUT, we're enjoying our new status as husband and wife. We're having a lot of fun, trying to stay busy, and learning a lot about each other and marriage along the way. We are learning the meaning of having to completely rely on God to show us our path, because, honestly, we don't know what's next for us, much less what's going to happen tomorrow. Therefore, our faith is being tested and I can confindently say that we can only become better and stronger at the end of our tunnel.

Better updates to come! Until then, here's a few pictures from our BEAUTIFUL, AMAZING, INCREDIBLE wedding! By the way, I don't think we've really gotten the chance to thank anyone and everyone who helped us prepare for May 8th. We are eternally grateful and I wish that we could convey our gratitude enough.
