It's Time...

Okay faithful readers. It's time to tell you about what's going on in our crazy life.

I mentioned a couple of posts ago that we were moving again. YES, we're moving to the FIFTH (that's 5) place we've lived in since we've been married. As my friend AGENT Wellons Woods (soon to be Farmer) said when I told her we were moving again... "I could write a book.....". Oh man-- and this new place is going to be an entertaining chapter in that book.

SO- here's the story and God's providence for ya:

About a week or two after we moved into the apartment we're in now, our pastor Sam called Dane informing him that he'd found a RENT-FREE place to live. Yes, RENT FREE! Of course, we jumped on it! Who wouldn't move again for a rent-free place? WELL, long story short: we're moving there around the first week of April. To spare you the details, we've been doing a lot of work on it...cleaning and repainting and replacing carpet and whatnot. So you're probably wondering what's the catch, huh? WELL, we will be living at the boy scout camp and will be the caretakers. (I could write a book...). We will keep the place up and in return, we'll get to live there for free! All we have to do is cut the grass (aka Dane gets a tractor and he's not complainin'!!). Can't beat that! It has been a process though, not going to lie. The boy scouts have gotten some service hours helping us :) Pictures to come, but I can't bear to put up the before pictures without putting up the after pictures too. I just can't let you linger with these images without seeing the work that's been done. Needless to say, we're excited!! Here's what excites me most about living out there (keep in mind, it's on 52 acres and has a pavilion and a pond and a fire ring! woo!):

- we're planting a garden! YAY! Dane tilled it this week and I am BEYOND excited! I cant wait until we plant
-WE'RE GETTING A DOG!!! Okay, I've been asking for a dog for months and months and I'm FINALLY getting one! (Dane, it's on the internet now so it's official :)) I feel like I'm having a child or something. I have been searching and searching for dogs to adopt and we've come across a few. I won't be getting him/her until my birthday time (or atleast until we're officially in the house). YAAAY!!

So, besides all of that, we have been so so busy. Dane has been working long, long days (like, at least 12 hours and usually more) and it's been an adjustment to say the least. I am SO proud of him though. He works so hard and has such long days and still comes home and never complains. That's work ethic that I admire and hope to take after. I will say, I have so much pride in Dane. Seeing your husband work long days and provide for us brings me to a whole new love and admiration for him. I love him :)

Anyways, that's all folks! I'll leave you with a few pictures I've taken lately (who doesn't like pictures?)
one of our recent date nights. i took dane on a date! :)

CONGRATS!!

I am so excited and proud to announce that Sam DeWeese and Morgan Taylor are ENGAGED!

I am beyond excited for my incredible brother-in-law and wonderful FUTURE sister-in-law! I don't like saying "future" sister-in-law because, honestly, I've called her my sister-in-law since day one. She's one of the first of the DeWeese clan I met and she made me feel right at home (and she still does!). So SO excited for these two!

A Much Needed Update

Hello all!

I figured it was about time to update y'all on our life. We're really liking our new place and we're all settled. However, guess what........!? We'll be moving again. YES! I know you're probably thinking we're completely insane, BUT there's an awesome reason we're moving (our pastor found us a rent-free place! YES! rent-free!). More updates on that later. We won't be moving til mid-April or so. There's some work and fixing up to do there. I cannot believe we're moving again, but I'm so pumped about it too. God is revealing a really great plan for us right now, and He is taking care of us! Especially through His children. He has been so gracious to us through them!

School is going good. I'm on spring break right now and just at home, nothing too exciting. I'll be working most days this week so that's good. Also, catching up on school work and other dreaded things blaaaaah.

Work for Dane is really starting to pick up, seeing as planting season is coming soon! It's been good for him.

Honestly, that's all that's really been happening. We've just been busy with work and school and life is becoming quite monotonous for the first time since we've been married. By the way, we've been married over 10 months! How crazy is that!? Almost to the 1 year mark. Cannot believe it!

Ok, since this update was extremely (not) exciting, i'll leave you with a bunch of pictures from the past few months!

we decided to head to philly right when the ice storm started haha
Dane hung out with Eddie and Walley one day. He got some great pictures!
Brotherly love.
Great action shot of Eddie!
We all met for breakfast :) My 2 best friends and all of our significants.
If only I could explain my lifelong friendship with these 2 (and Katie! she wasn't there, she's in med school in Kansas City. We miss her!). One day i'll dedicate a post to these girls. BEST FRIENDS doesn't begin to describe it.
Dane on the way to Starkville to take Wil hunting and stay with the Hiltpolds! Yay!!
Cass and Randy.... love this picture of them! They were so gracious letting us stay with them all weekend :)
:)
Wil after we all hunted. Yes, all 3 of us got in the stand together. Made for an interesting and FUN afternoon!
Moving into our new place. Thank you Jacob!!
The big snow of 2011! Yazoo got a bunch :)
Mini-cupcakes for my valentine :)
An exciting night of dominos...........................

The Life of a Grad Student/Wife Person

 TODAY:
  • i am tired.
  • i am relieved that it's Thursday (my Friday :)).
  • i am excited about sleeping in tomorrow.
  • i am excited about NOT doing school work tonight and hanging out with Dane, even if it is just watching a movie on the couch (which means i'll fall asleep....seeing as i'm tired).
  • i am encouraged by my friends and family and Dane.
  • i am overwhelmed by the fact that i am righteous because He is righteous.
  • i am feeling blessed to be in school, even if it does take up most of my life and time and is stressful and i'm behind
  • i am moved by my classes, my professors, and their insight.
  • i am learning more than my little brain can manage, and I'm in love with what I'm learning!
  • i am learning that grace isn't a "thing" to hold on to and grab...it isn't tangible. BUT it is given to those with true faith. It's unconditional. He gives it to those who truly believe. Gives....by nothing i can do or convince Him i did. It's free. It's freeing!
  • i love the weather!
  • i am excited about seeing my friends and going fishing with Dane.
  • i am loved and feel like spreading my love.
  • i am HAPPY.
  • We can only see, think, and feel what is present. Little do we know that what is going on in the big picture is what matters. The overall plan for our life is bigger than our little segment we're living.
  • if i could communicate to you what is going on in my brain and the things i'm learning, you'd be blown away too. however, i can't. because it's overwhelming and wonderful all at the same time!
  • i hope everyone enjoys their weekend of beautiful weather
  • this has been all about me. i feel selfish. i am selfish. it gets in the way alot!

Thanks for letting me ramble. This is what my brain has felt like since school started. FULL of STUFF! i needed to get some of it out :)

Blessed!!

School is so great! I seriously love it. I forgot how much I liked school. PLUS, I'm learning about what I am passionate about. I've already grown by leaps and bounds, and I'm exhilarated to see what the Lord will do in my life in the next 2 1/2 years! Seriously, I can't describe to you the sheer excitement of what He is teaching me here.

On another note, I am BLESSED! Why? Because I have an awesome husband who has packed up our house (we move tomorrow and Wednesday) while I've been doing school work... and is glad to do it! I married a man who has such a great servant heart. YAY DANE! I love you and I'm thankful for you :)

Ok I'll stop grossing you out with pictures of my husband. I can't help it! He's my best friend and I love him :)

That is all.

Love to all.

oh man...

Well everyone............... I start grad school tomorrow!!
I'm a little nervous, but overall excited and sort of ready! After I finish this program, I will be on my way to something that I've always wanted to do........help people through counseling. Needless to say, I'm going to be challenged and changed in so many ways in the next 2.5 years. I've been reading some of the material I'll be studying more in depth come tomorrow, and the Lord has already spoken to me in multiple ways. God is good!

In other news, we're moving to Yazoo City. It's not that far of a move, but we want to live closer to highway 49 and just in civilization :) We're excited! We'll be moving February 9th to a cute 2 bedroom apartment.

Hunting season is officially over. I never ever ever thought I'd say this, but I'm actually kind of sad. Hunting has been a source of fun times this year! From Texas to Greenwood to Philadelphia to Starkville and all of the other places we've been, we've had a blast and I've learned a lot about it. I can officially say I feel like a hunter's wife and I'm happy that Dane is so passionate about it. Next up: fishing!! I'm pretty pumped about this time of year........seeing as I'm so much better at fishing than Dane is. KIDDING! I just like to tease him. But it's a blast spending a beautiful day fishing!

I've started working at my old stomping grounds once, sometimes twice a week. THE SEATTLE DRIP! For the first time in a while I'm actually truly enjoying my job. My bosses are incredible and my co-workers (some of which I've been friends with since I worked here in high school!) are encouraging. Nothing like a Christian environment to work in! I feel so blessed.

Please pray for this transition that's about to happen with school! AH! Love you all. :)
